Journal Entry: Sat May 17, 2008, 10:18 AM
My old journal entry was getting a bit old... so I think i should update this.

It really was a shitty winter in Finland this year... almost no snow, and I went fishing in february. (That is, in a lake which normally gets ice cover in december.) Depressing. And someone still claims that there is no global warming. Got to move away from the coast later in my life, to a place with more snow and maybe a real winter every now and then. We should really do something for the nature... it has done SO much for us! But noo, we just keep dumbing our trash and toilet water to lakes and seas. I'm not an angel in these matters myself, but I atleast do something every now and then.

But hey, dragonfly season is upon us. Awesome! I just uploaded my first dragonfly pic of the year. Hope u guys like it!

Thanks for your nice comment on 'Solar Power.' Guess we will just have to disagree on the square format. I know most of the books agree with you, but I like the format, guess I'm just a :deviator: .

hi... many thanks for the watch.... and I wish you a happy new year

The special talent for recognizing things is that I spent much time and lots of memorycard capacity to take the pics (snapsnapsnap) I guess. Maybe I do see some interesting things too, but... mostly it is I take a pic of everything and then remove them from the com. Damn I love digital cameras. Just thinking how much it would cost if I used my film Pentax :P
i can get to around 5cm I think? (or 3) But the 8Mpix allows a bit of cropping and I have a couple of promising pics on my com... we will see. I just don't like working with PSP (and com) too much so it takes a bit of time to get the pics ready for "publishing." That's why many of my pics here have not been cropped or size reduzed.
I think I'm going to buy add-on tele-lens to this cam and do some bird shooting :P

Nice gallery! I think you have a special talent for recognizing interesting things to photograph. I particularly enjoy your ice & snow photos. They have a elegant simplicity to them. Can you get any more closer (macro) with your camera? I would like to see photos even closer of your pine cones and moss and such! Really great! I look forward to seeing more wonderful photos from you!

thanks for the comment/fav & devWatch!
I'm glad that you enjoyed Teardrops of June pt3.
:aww:

as for the borders... I like when there's a frame around the photo because I think it adds to its 'artistic' quality. when I see a borderless photo, I immediately think of stock.
